"Following
a very successful degree show, Margaret continues to create large,
complex canvases, which often include handmade models and depict
varying depths of reality. Her textured pieces are concerned with the
interactions between people's fluid personas and their encountered
environments, both perceived and actual. Her art forces us to confront
current issues in politics, religion and morality."

"Montrose Review" newspaper
"Since leaving Gray's, Margaret has responded well to the challenge of
creating an independent presence in the art world and has won a major
purchase prize at the Scottish National Exhibition. She has also been
chosen for the highly prestigious Courvoisier Future 500 network of
innovators and her work has sold well through established Scottish
galleries."

The art was described by Angus College spokesman Kevin Murphy as "wonderfully imaginative and creative". "Arbroath Herald" newspaper |
"Brechin Advertiser" newspaper (degree show review)
"Margaret's paintings are often very large and can rely heavily on texture as well as form. Many feature use of wax or papier-mâché to bring the images off the canvas and give them a life of their own. Her other influences include recent technological advances such as the internet and mobile phones and how they either effect art or can be used in artistic expression."
Susan Mansfield, "The Scotsman" newspaper (degree show review)
"Margaret Livingstone's works are as disturbing as they are innovative, dealing with issues of internet child abuse, and drawing on elements of collage and surrealism."
Meston Reid
 | Michael Reid, Managing Partner of Meston Reid & Co, said, 'Meston Reid & Co look forward to the excellent pieces hanging in the office for many years to come. The paintings have produced favourable comment by many visitors to the office and being able to hang originals on the wall adds to the quality of the presentation.' |

"A wonderful portrait which I will treasure and pass on to my son to remind him of his father. The resemblence is uncanny, and the painting is so alive. Thank you."
